Cayenne Jazz Festival

Jazz festivals in the Caribbean are popular musical events that showcase jazz as well as the region's local cultural influences. Europcar Guyane takes you to discover these festivals, and in particular the one coming to French Guiana in October 2023: the Kayenn Jazz Festival.

KAYENN JAZZ FESTIVAL

After no sign of the Festival since October 2015, the Kayenn Jazz Festival is back, much to the delight of some!

RATES

This event is open to all, from the youngest to the oldest. Several packages are available:

• Evening pass (3 concerts): €15

• 2 evening pass (6 concerts): €25

• 3 evening pass (9 concerts): 35€.

Passes can be purchased on site. Admission is free for children under 17. So there's something for everyone :)

KAYENN JAZZ FESTIBAL PROGRAM

The program takes place over 7 days from October 7, 2023 to October 15, 2023 at the Jardin Botanique. Come and enjoy an unforgettable week full of jazz music! Tuesday, October 10 - Terrace of the University of Guyana 6pm to 8pm - come and learn more about the birth of jazz to the present day with historian Loïc Marie-Magdeleine. And that's not all, at 8:30 p.m. there's a concert by Clara Nugent and GayaJazz (free admission). All this takes place at the University of Guyana. 8:30pm to 9:30pm - Concert by Friroots Trio

Wednesday, October 11 - Complexe Eldorado 6:00 pm - Ciné en Jazz at Complexe Eldorado with screening of the film Ella Fitzgerald From 8:30 to 9:30 pm - Concert by Clara Nugent and Gayajazz.

Thursday, October 12 :

• 9am to 2.30pm: JAZZ book exhibition - Portraits of invited artists to discover

• From 5pm to 6:30pm, a big Jazz parade will start on the Montabo road and finish at the Botanical Garden.

• 6:40 pm Come and take part in the official speeches by the Mayor, partners and guests of honor.

• 7:30 pm: Come and listen to our Ladies of Jazz

• 8:30 p.m.: the Wakérê group from Brazil and French Guiana will give an unforgettable presentation.

• Finally, at 9:30 p.m., your jazz evening will come to a close with Canelle from French Guiana.

Friday October 13 :

• 7:30pm: Roseline Jersier concert

• 8:30pm: Dhafer Youssef concert

• 9:35 pm: Trophées du Jazz awards ceremony

• 10:30pm: Concert by Toni Green

• 11pm: To round off the evening in style, a musical association performs for us.

Saturday October 14th :

• 7pm: Concert by Leslie Phillips

• 8:30pm: Concert by Baptiste Trotignon trio

• 9:35pm: Presentation of Jazz Trophies: 1 large and 2 small

• 9:45pm: Concert by Eric Gales

• 11pm: Concert by a musical association

Sunday, October 15th :

• 7am to 9am: Zumba Jazz and relaxation sports

• 10am to 12pm: Brunch and DJ atmosphere

• 7:30pm: Concert by Opus Tafari

• 8:30pm: Mélissa LAVEAUX concert

• 9:35pm: Trophées du Jazz awards ceremony

• 9:45pm: Concert by Samy Thiebault/ Akiyo/ Cippe

• 11pm: Concert by a musical association
