Car Rental Return

Need details on the steps involved in returning your rental car? Find all the indications and answers on the return of the rented vehicle in this FAQ.

Topic 1 : The stages of returning a rental car

Make sure you are on time to return the rental car to the agency indicated on your rental contract. Europcar French Guiana agencies have different opening and closing hours, please take the hours into account to avoid paying additional fees. In case of delay, please notify us as soon as possible at +594 694 35 18 27!

You must hand over the keys of the vehicle to the receptionists. In case you have to return the keys to the airport agency and it is closed, there is a box available for you to return the key.

Upon return of the vehicle, we check multiple elements such as

  • The possible damages that have occurred during the rental period. Upon return of the vehicle, one of our agents will evaluate the damage caused according to the vehicle's condition sheet. They will be listed on the form that you will have to sign (if you are present). In case of damage, you will be charged for the damage caused during the rental period.

  • The return of the subscribed options (ex: child seat)

  • The state of cleanliness of the rental vehicle

  • The level of fuel gauge.

Upon return of the rental vehicle, you may be charged for certain items if:

  • The vehicle has not been refueled. Our agents will check the fuel level upon return of the vehicle. You will be charged, if necessary, depending on the fuel option chosen.

  • The vehicle is damaged. Our agents will check if the rental car is returned in good condition, as it was when you picked it up. If damage is reported, you will be charged according to the insurance policy.

  • You did not return the extra equipment.

Topic 2 : Other questions

If you are ever late or need to extend your rental agreement, please contact us as soon as possible at +594 594 35 18 27. If you return your rental vehicle after the scheduled date and time without prior agreement, you will be charged a late return fee for each day of delay.

No, you will not be refunded if you return the vehicle early.

No. It is strictly forbidden for another individual to return the rental car.

If you forget something in a Europcar rental car, please contact us at +594 594 35 18 27.

Unfortunately, you cannot return your vehicle outside of our agency's opening hours. Upon request and acceptance by a Europcar French Guiana agent, solutions will be proposed to you. You are responsible for the rented vehicle until it is returned to one of the Europcar French Guiana agencies.
